At The Hunter House Bed & Breakfast, the safety, security, and comfort of our guests are our highest priorities.  To ensure a pleasant and well-managed environment for everyone, the following policies are in place and strictly enforced.


By booking, checking in or entering The Hunter House Bed & Breakfast, you acknowledge that:


  • You need to be at least 19 years old to book a room
  • You have a valid photo ID may be asked from you upon check-in
  • All reservations must include the first and last name of ALL adults occupying the room and a valid credit card to successfully secure your room
  • We only accept Visa or MasterCard
  • Room rates are subject to change
  • All rooms are subject to applicable taxes and fees
  • Strict adherence to registered guests for each room is enforced

      *Additional guest fee of $30 per night stayed will be automatically charged on your card on file.  We reserve the right to terminate your non-refundable reservation if additional unregistered guests have been invited over to stay without notifying The Hunter House Bed & Breakfast team.

  • We are not responsible for lost or forgotten personal items on the premises.
  • Accept that policy violations result in immediate termination without refund


The Standard Booking Price includes:


  • All applicable taxes and fees
  • Utilities (water, gas and electricity)
  • Wifi
  • Towels, bed linen, duvet and hairdryer
  • Cleaning before and after your stay (daily cleaning is available upon request for extra charge)
  • Breakfast


Check-in/Check-out Policies

Main entrance is off of West 12th Avenue. Your reservation is guaranteed until the day of arrival. It will no longer be guaranteed and the room may be reassigned if there is a no show on your check-in day.


Check-In starts:  3:00 PM (15:00 PST)

*To preserve the significance of its renown structure and finishes, Hunter House has a strict no shoe policy. You may bring your own indoor slippers.  Outdoor shoes, boots, sandals, and flip flops are prohibited in common areas and in the rooms.  Non-compliance may result in additional cleaning fees or entry refusal.* 

Check-Out ends:  11:00 AM (11:00 PST)


As we are a self-entry (contactless) Bed & Breakfast, your access code will be automatically generated and activated once full payment has been made. 

**Please note that check-in cannot be completed until full payment has been received and approved.  We reserve the right to terminate your non-refundable reservation if your outstanding balance has not been paid 7 days prior to your arrival date. 


Depending on the availability, a requested late check-out time may or may not be available.
At check-out time please enter the check out code on the door lock pad. 

Cancelation Policies :

There is only one way in which we can acknowledge cancellation of the guest’s reservation; the guest must send a cancellation request stating the reservation number via email.  All cancellations are confirmed via email immediately after the reservation has been canceled. 


The Hunter House Bed & Breakfast have the right to terminate your reservation if we do not receive your full payment 7 days prior to your arrival date. We will send you a cancellation confirmation via email immediately after canceling your booking. 


Our payments and cancellation policy is strictly enforced, no exceptions.  This includes:


  • No-shows
  • Cancellations during your stay
  • Booking changes made less than 3 days before your arrival 


Deposit  (Processed at the time of booking.  Please note this is not a damage deposit, but a deposit to secure your reservation):

  • 100% of deposit fee is refundable if cancellation request is more than 7 days prior to check-in time.
  • 100% of the total deposit fee is non-refundable if the guest cancels 7 days or less prior to check-in time.
  • There is only one way in which we can acknowledge cancellation of the guest’s reservation; the guest must send a cancellation request stating the reservation number via email.
  • All cancellations are confirmed via email immediately after the reservation has been canceled. 


Full Payment  (Grand Total - Deposit = Remaining Balance of Full Payment):

  • 100% of the full payment is refundable if cancellation request is more than 7 days prior to check-in time.
  • 50% of the full payment is refundable if cancellation request is more than 3 days prior to check-in time.


Group Bookings (3 or more rooms booked):

  • 100% of the full payment is refundable if cancellation request is more than 14 days prior to check-in time.
  • 50% of the full payment is refundable if cancellation request is more than 7 days prior to check-in time.


Non-Smoking and Damages:

Smoking indoors is strictly prohibited.  We are a non-smoking facility.  This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic delivery systems, including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs), e-pipes, and any variations of the foregoing regardless of the product’s name. Any smoking in the rooms or strong lingering smoking scents in rooms will result in a $500 room cleaning fee.

*We reserve the right to terminate your non-refundable reservation if you have broken this policy. 

The Tabacco and Vapour Products Control Regulation sets a 6m zone around all doorways, air intakes, and open windows to any public and work places in BC.  This protects against emissions entering and protects our guests and staff as they enter or exit. 


Immediate termination of your reservation if: 

  • Unregistered guests* joining for breakfast and/or staying in your room
  • Excessive noise is made from 9PM-9AM
  • Abusive behavior is directed to our team and/or to our guests.  We have the right to refuse service or terminate your reservation.
  • Sub-letting the room you have booked (or giving it to other people).

*The number and names of the guest(s) in the room should be the same as confirmed in the booking. Accommodation for additional guests may be requested at additional charge for each additional guest per night.


Pets & Service Animal Policy:

  • No pets allowed on premises at any time.  This is to protect our staff and guests with allergies.
  • Service animals - BC Guide/Service certification may be requested

Property Damage & Replacement:

You are responsible for all damages during your stay, including:


  • replacement of linens, towels, blankets, pillows, ice packs for air coolers

       (please note these are NOT gifts and must remain in the room)

  • repairs for broken or altered items, furniture, or hotel property
  • deep cleaning due to misuse, staining, or policy violations


During your stay, the house and all equipment and furniture should be treated with care and kept in order. Immediate notification to staff will be expected of any damages or breakages in or around the house. You (The Guest) is financially responsible for any damage made on the property. This includes losses caused by you (The Guest) or a third party's negligent actions and behavior. A summary check will be made at the time of check-out. However, a more detailed review of the condition of the house and all equipment and facilities will be made soon after check-out and before another guest occupies the room. The Guest is responsible for any damages or breakages found that are over and above normal wear and tear and usage. A detailed statement of damage along with an invoice for the repair or replacement cost will be sent to you by email and a charge to your card on file will be made. Guests are responsible for the balance of the damages incurred.
 

Access Code & Security:

At The Hunter House Bed & Breakfast, our in-house team is not present at every hour of the day. Your access code is your digital key.  Protect it. 


  • Never share your code with anyone including to delivery services made to Hunter House Bed & Breakfast. 
  • Do not let anyone follow you into the building
  • Each guest must use their own assigned code
  • Codes automatically deactivate after checkout
  • Always ensure doors fully closed and locked behind you
  • Do not give hotel property or guest belongings to unregistered individuals.  You are liable for any losses or damages.


We will not take any responsibilities for any lost or damaged packages being sent to The Hunter House Bed & Breakfast.  Unauthorized entry is a serious violation.  All damages, cleaning fees, and losses caused by unauthorized individuals will be billed to the registered guest who granted access, and can be subjected to termination of their stay without refund.


24/7 Surveillance: All door access is electronically logged.  Security cameras monitor the premises at all times.

Alcohol Policy:

Be responsible for your consumption and be mindful of other guests staying on our property. 

Room Cleaning Policy:

The Hunter House Bed & Breakfast is an eco-friendly accommodation.  Daily room cleaning will not be offered during stays. Should you need fresh towels or linen, please ask our host who will be happy to provide them for you.


Laundry Service:

Laundry services are not available at The Hunter House Bed & Breakfast.


Firearms:
Firearms are strictly prohibited on the premises. Guests who fail to abide by this policy will be asked to leave the hotel premises, without refund. The hotel premises are private property, and our firearms policy applies to: (i) all firearms, regardless of whether the firearm is a handgun or a long-barreled gun; and (ii) all guests and visitors, even those possessing a valid license or permit to carry a firearm. The only exception to the restrictions described in this firearms policy statement is for law enforcement officers and designated military personnel, who are on-duty and required to carry firearms in the performance of their duties.


Privacy:
As part of our commitment to guest safety, employees will not disclose the identity, room number or presence of a guest to anyone other than appropriate law enforcement. This includes the taking of or delivery of messages or indirect forwarding of phone calls. It is the responsibility of guests to communicate their presence and room number to any person they wish to receive calls or visits from.  Safety cameras are used throughout the premises, and anyone on our property may be recorded. The Hunter House Bed & Breakfast assumes no responsibility for any personal bodily injury incurred.
